Merge fields in templates
What fields such as client name and case number mean, and how to add your own fields and conditions
Last updated:
A merge field is a spot in the template text that is replaced with real data when you generate. It is written in double braces, such as {{client.name_ar}}. The easiest way is to click the field in Insert field so it is inserted at the cursor.
Built-in field groups
- Client: name in Arabic and English, ID type and number, nationality, mobile, email, address, city.
- Matter: file number, title, court type and name, circuit, Najiz case number and year (H), stage, claim amount, date the file was opened.
- Opposing party: name, ID, nationality, mobile, address.
- Firm: name, licence number, VAT number, commercial registration, address, phone, email, city.
- Lawyer: my name (the current user) and the lawyer responsible for the matter.
- Date: today's date in Hijri and Gregorian, or either one.
A field that is empty in the matter data shows as a dotted blank in the preview and generated file, and you can fill it when generating under Missing values.
Extra fields of your own
Under Extra fields press Add field and set the Key (lowercase English letters, digits and _), the Arabic label and English label, and the Type: text, long text, number, date, list (one option per line), or Party (name, ID, nationality, mobile, address). Tick Required to stop generation without it. Use it in the text as {{key}}; for a party, e.g. {{seller.name}}.
Conditions
Text between {{#if field}} and {{/if}} appears only when the field has a value, and you can add {{else}}. Use the {{#if}} block button to wrap selected text.
