Why can't I issue my invoice?
Why the Issue invoice button is disabled, what the "Cannot issue yet" list means and how to fix each reason.
Last updated:
On the draft page, under "Draft — not issued and not numbered", you may see Cannot issue yet: followed by the reasons. Fix them and the button becomes active.
| Reason shown | Fix |
|---|---|
| "The seller profile is incomplete…" | Complete the legal name, VAT number, CR number and national address in the Seller profile & Fatoora tab (owner or partner edits it). See Seller details. |
| "The buyer's name is required." | Enter the name in Buyer (client). |
| "A standard invoice needs the buyer's VAT number… or CR number." | Enter the VAT number (15 digits starting and ending with 3) or CR number, or switch the type to Simplified if the client is an individual. |
| "Add at least one line." | Add a line or import the work. |
| "The document total must be above zero." | Check prices and discounts. |
| "A reason is required for a note." | On credit and debit notes, write the reason. |
| "The credit note exceeds what is left…" | Lower the amount. |
Button disabled with no list of reasons
You have probably reached the Free plan's monthly limit (3 documents): a card says No invoices left to issue this month. Wait for next month or upgrade your plan.
"Could not issue and no number was used"
A technical failure while generating, with no number lost. Try again. If it keeps happening on a standard invoice, make sure the buyer's national address is complete (street, building number, district, city, postal code), because the format rules require it for a buyer in Saudi Arabia.
