Free trial, cancellation and past-due payments

What the subscription statuses mean: trial, active, past due, ended, and how to cancel or fix a failed payment.

Your subscription status shows as a badge in the Plan card of the Billing page.

The statuses

StatusMeaning
No subscriptionYou're on the Free plan
TrialA paid subscription in its free trial; you read "Trial ends on [date]"
ActiveA running paid subscription; you read "Renews on [date]"
Past dueThe last payment failed
EndedThe subscription ended and the firm is back on Free

The free trial

A firm subscribing for the first time gets a 14-day free trial. The paid plan works with all its features throughout the trial. If the trial ends without payment, your firm isn't locked; it goes back to Free.

Past due

Paid-plan features keep working, but:

  1. You see: "The last payment failed. Update the payment method under “Manage billing” to keep the workspace running."
  2. Open Manage billing and update the card.
  3. Until it's resolved, new members can't be invited or added.

Cancelling

  1. Open Manage billing and choose to cancel in the Stripe portal.
  2. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period; you read "Ends on [date] (will not renew)" and keep using the plan until then.
  3. After it ends the status becomes Ended and the firm goes back to Free; the Premium listing perks the plan gave to linked listings are also removed (unless the listing has its own separate subscription).

You can subscribe again at any time from Upgrade.
