Matters

The matters list, search and filters

How to browse the firm's matters by status, stage, court and responsible lawyer, and who sees which matter.

Last updated:

The Matters page holds the case and transaction files: client, court, Najiz number, stage and team in one place.

Status tabs

Tabs at the top show a count for each status: Open, On hold, Closed, Archived, All. The default tab is Open.

Type a matter title, file number, Najiz number, court name or client name, then press Search.

Filters and sorting

  • Stage: Pre-litigation, First instance, Appeal, Supreme Court, Enforcement, Settled, Concluded.
  • Court: the court type (General, Criminal, Commercial, Labour…).
  • Responsible: a specific member, My matters, or unassigned.
  • Practice area.
  • Sort: Recently updated, Opening date, File no., Title.

The page shows 25 matters, as a table on large screens and cards on phones. Clear filters restores the default view.

Who sees which matter?

An owner or partner sets Who can see matters? in Settings:

  • Everyone: all members see all matters.
  • Assigned only: a lawyer or paralegal sees the matters they are responsible for or on the team of. They see a note saying so, and "No matters assigned to you" if none are.

Owners, partners and accountants see all matters. Accountants are read-only and see "You have read-only access to matters."
