Roles and permissions in Practice

A table of what each role can do: Owner, Partner, Lawyer, Paralegal and Accountant.

Last updated:

Every member of the firm has one role that decides what they can see and do. The five roles are Owner, Partner, Lawyer, Paralegal and Accountant.

At a glance

  • Owner: everything, including billing. At least one Owner must always remain.
  • Partner: everything except billing settings.
  • Lawyer: own and assigned matters.
  • Paralegal: calendar, documents and tasks; no financials.
  • Accountant: invoices, payments and financial reports only.
