Summarising a document or a matter
A summary of a PDF, Word or image document, or of where a matter stands from its data
Last updated:
Summarise a document (≈ 8 points)
- Open the document from Documents.
- In the AI assistant card press Summarise the document.
- The summary appears progressively: the parties, key points, deadlines and amounts, and what needs checking. You can Copy it.
Supported: PDF, Word and images (JPG, PNG, WebP). Other types show "Summarising is available for PDF, Word and image files". If the file is very large you see "The file is too large to summarise", and if its end was cut because of length you are warned.
Summarise a matter (≈ 5 points)
- Open the matter and, in the AI assistant card, the Summary tab.
- Press Summarise the matter.
The summary is built from the matter's data in Practice: facts, procedure, hearings, tasks and gaps. Phone numbers, ID numbers and emails are not sent. If the context can't hold all the data you see "The context could not hold the whole matter; not sent:" with the omitted sections.
General rules
- The assistant is bound by what you can see: it can't read a matter or document outside your access.
- "The assistant declined this request" or "The request could not be completed" mean no points were charged.
- Reviewing the summary is your responsibility; read the terms.
