Thank you for your question. The Labour Law provides that claims relating to labour rights will not be heard after twelve months from the date the employment relationship ends, and some claims arising while the contract is in force are counted from the date the right arose. Since your employment ended about eight months ago, in principle you are still within the period, but we advise you to act immediately and not rely on the employer's promises, because undocumented informal stalling may not interrupt the period.
A labour claim usually begins with an amicable settlement stage through the Wudi platform of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD), and you can follow these steps:
1. Gather your documents: the employment contract, payslips or bank transfers, proof of the date the employment ended, your social insurance (GOSI) contribution record, and any correspondence with the company.
2. Log in to the Wudi platform with your National Single Sign-On (Nafath) account and submit the settlement request, specifying each claim precisely, such as overdue wages, end-of-service benefits and payment in lieu of leave, if any.
3. Attend the settlement sessions on time (many are held remotely) and keep a copy of the session minutes.
4. If a settlement is reached, the agreement is documented; if it is not reached within the statutory period, or the employer fails to attend, the claim is referred electronically to the labour court.
5. After referral, follow your case through the Najiz platform, attend the hearings, and submit your memoranda and documents by the set deadlines.
If a final judgment is issued in your favour and the employer does not comply voluntarily, you can request its enforcement before the Enforcement Court under the Enforcement Law.
Remember that filing the request on Wudi within the statutory period is important to preserve your rights, and that specifying and calculating your claims accurately affects the course of the case. Even so, the outcome depends on the evidence and the circumstances of each case and cannot be guaranteed in advance.
The KSA Lawyers team recommends consulting a lawyer who specialises in labour cases to review your documents and calculate your entitlements accurately before submitting the request.
