Choosing your practice areas and city

How many practice areas to choose, which is primary, and how your city affects visibility.

Last updated:

Your visibility on city and practice-area pages and in search results is based on what you choose here.

Practice areas

  1. In the listing editor scroll to Practice areas.
  2. Tick your main area (e.g. “Commercial cases”) and any sub-areas you practise.
  3. Press Save changes.

Important points:

  • The maximum is 8 practice areas; if you tick more, the first 8 in list order (top to bottom) are saved.
  • The first ticked area in the list is treated as your primary one. Arrange your choice by list position, not by the order you clicked.
  • Choose what you really practise; requests and questions are routed by practice area.
  • If you tick nothing and save, your previous practice areas stay as they were.

City and district

In “Contact and location” choose your city from the list and add the district and address. The city determines your presence on your city's page and how nearby requests are matched.
