Run a conflict-of-interest check

Search names, IDs, phones and companies across your contacts before taking on a new client, and understand the result.

Last updated:

Before you take on a new matter, check whether your firm has dealt with its parties before, especially if one of them was an opposing party in a previous matter. The check searches your non-archived contacts and saves each check as evidence.

How to run it

From a lead: open the lead, go to Conflict check and press Check conflicts before engaging. The lead's details are pre-filled; add the other parties' names.

Standalone: on Leads press Conflict check.

Then:

  1. Enter Names (one per line, Arabic or English).
  2. Add ID / iqama / CR numbers, Mobile numbers and Company names if you have them.
  3. Add Check notes and press Run check.

You need at least one name or number, otherwise you see "Enter at least one name or number".

Reading the result

  • Clear: no matches among the firm's contacts.
  • Potential conflict: a match with an existing client, expert or other contact. Review it before engaging.
  • Conflict of interest: a match with a contact whose role is Opposing party. Verify before engaging.

Each match has a Match score: ID 100, phone 90, company 70, name 60, company member 50. The Matches list shows what matched.

What the check does not cover

It searches contacts only, not matter text. A matter's opponent becomes discoverable once added as an Opposing party on the matter. Archived contacts are excluded.

Every check is kept in Check history with the date and who ran it, and also shows on the client's page. Every member, including accountants, can run a check.
