How to read a lawyer's profile and choose well

The sections of a profile, what an "unclaimed" profile is, and what to check before contacting.

Last updated:

Every office has a page that brings together contact details, reviews and ways to book.

Sections of the page

  • Top of the page: name, city, practice areas, Verified / Featured lawyer badges, overall rating and review count, and contact buttons.
  • About: an introduction to the office.
  • Address (with a "Directions" link to maps) and Opening hours.
  • Gallery and Frequently asked questions added by the office.
  • Answers by this lawyer: legal questions they answered on the platform, a good sign of their expertise.
  • Reviews: with the office's reply when there is one. Write a review
  • Request a consultation and Contact details in the side column.

What does "This profile has not been claimed by its owner yet" mean?

Some profiles were listed from public sources and their owner has not activated them. Their bio is a preliminary one prepared from available data, and the Message the office and Book a consultation buttons do not appear because they only work for activated offices. You can call the listed numbers, or send a request and we will route it to a suitable office. Details

Before you get in touch, check:

  1. Is the profile verified? What does the badge mean?
  2. Does the practice area match your case, and is the lawyer in your city or available remotely?
  3. The reviews and the office's replies — remember they are the authors' opinions.
  4. The consultation price and session types (video, phone, in person) if booking is available.
  5. The FAQs and answers by this lawyer.
