My question is "under review" or "not published" — what now?
Why a question is delayed or rejected, and how to rewrite it.
Last updated:
You can see each question's status on the questions page under My questions: published, under review, or not published (shown in Arabic as «منشور» / «قيد المراجعة» / «لم يُنشر»).
Under review
Some questions need a human look before publishing, for example one that openly accuses an identifiable person or body, gives sensitive details about minors, contains a threat or risk of self-harm, or that the automatic review could not confirm is a legal question. Review usually takes a few hours, and you receive an email when it is published. There is no need to resend it, since repeats use up your daily limit.
Not published ("We couldn't publish your question")
The site shows the reasons. A question is usually rejected if it is:
- Advertising or spam.
- Abusive or profane, or meaningless text.
- A request for help with something unlawful (such as evasion or forgery).
How do I try again?
- Rewrite the question clearly and briefly, in question form, without names, ID numbers or phone numbers.
- Describe the facts (what happened? when?) and then ask: "Am I entitled to…?" or "What is the procedure for…?"
- Send it again. Steps
For a sensitive personal situation, ask us to recommend a lawyer instead of a public question. If you think the rejection was wrong, write to us.
